updating with light, landscape and new materials
Location | Hobart, IN
Size | 1,200,000 sf
Type | Retail Renovation
This existing retail center was defined by long expanses of uninterrupted red brick broken periodically by monumental tenant entrances of the same material. Although the existing architecture was of good quality, it lacked a sense of excitement, energy or freshness. The renovation scheme included elements of lighting, landscape, and trellis structures paired with updated materials. These different elements created a palette that allowed us to break down the large facade and created a rhythm that unified the center. In doing so, the pedestrian experience was greatly enhanced. New pad buildings utilized this palette to complete the center in a unified and cohesive way.
